CORK 1000 LAMP RITUAL

Year of the Dragon 2024: Join us on the 24th of February and light a candle and make a wish on this Multi Faith Multi Cultural evening.

We will light 1000 candles and pray for Peace, Luck & Good Fortune for everyone. We have many wonderful musicians lined up as we join together as a community

We always honour all faith traditions and this year as the world tethers on the brink of an expanding war and refugee crisis we are holding a Multi Faith Ritual on the 24th of February 2024. It will be on a Saturday evening at the Unitarian Church Hall on Princes Street in Cork

We have representatives from many faith traditions leading an opening prayer, the Thai monks from Mitchelstown Wat Buddhamahadhatu Temple chanting, and Cork’s own Chinese Esoteric Buddhist Sangha chanting ceremony with backup from our sister nuns from the Jambhala Temple in Essex as people light candles and this section lasts about an hour and twenty minutes …we will have some hot food and drinks available and it promises to be a nice musical and spiritual evening with hopefully a bit of craic as the evening progresses and the musicians start to feel the magic

On the music side Declan Sinnott will be playing and setting up our sound system https://youtu.be/yCxYj63NxU0?si=qKnVEiG4XWTuTLdr 🙏🙏🙏
and Nastaran headed up by Dara O Brien will be playing too….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRZme-rXroA 🙏🙏🙏
Bhavana Anand, a recent arrival to Cork will perform a Classical Indian Hindu dance https://youtu.be/jyWgKfKIitk?si=UZFssGseIM06Gb9Q
and Fresh Air Collective will round off the evening https://www.rutilachs.ie/fresh-air-collective-cork.html
