A Magical Start to the Year of the Snake!🕯✨

A unique multi-cultural event marked the Lunar new year “ The Year of the Snake “in Cork. Leaders of many cultural and faith traditions gathered with local community activists to light some of the 1000 candles at a traditional Chinese Buddhist ceremony led by the Chinese Esoteric Buddhist school from various countries who travelled to Cork especially for the event from several countries.

We celebrated the Lunar New Year with a beautiful 1000 Lights Ceremony, bringing luck and good fortune for the year ahead. From the glowing candlelit procession down Church Street to the heartfelt gathering at Shandon Studios, the evening was truly special.

Candles were symbolically lit and carried down Church street to Shandon studios where a traditional 1000 Lights ceremony was held to bring luck and good fortune for the year of the Snake
